A physical and fitness club in ONNA under the aegis, All Stars Football Club, has eulogised the deputy chief whip and member representing ONNA state constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Nse Essien, for his meritorious achievements in the Assembly within his one year as a member of parliament, describing his achievements as a worthy proof of a courageous ambassador.
The club made the statement recently during a courtesy call on the ONNA Lawmaker by its management team, in his Uyo Office.
In his address, president of the group, Obong Essiet Umana, expressed appreciation to God for making the visit which he described as a rare privilege, considering the tight schedules of the Lawmaker, a reality, adding that it was an indication that he is still an active member of the group which he was one of the founding members.
Highlighting the achievements of the club, which, according to the president; “has existed a little over 3 years,” Obong Umana, described the club’s successes as impressive.
He added that the impressive successes recorded by the club, is because the club did not deviate from its major intent, which is, training for physical fitness that can shake off some diseases and ensure good health.
In his words; “Coastal All Stars ONNA has existed for a little over 3 years, the membership have been continuously impressive. We embrace the major intent of the association, that is, training for physical fitness that can shake off some diseases and make someone live longer, that is why we now train every Wednesday and Saturday except on Sanitation days”
Speaking further, the president of the club, while pin-pointing some challenges faced by the club, solicited for empowerment and sponsorship from Nse Essien and other privileged members and patrons of the club, in order, to enable the club take part in the 2016 All Stars League schedule to hold in September .
“The state 2016 All Stars League will begin in September, 2016 and the Eket Federal constituency Football Tournament for All Stars is slated for August 13 at Esit Eket. A lot of money is required for registration of the chapter and players; transport to match venues and care for players.
“Our coaches are doing fine but they need sponsorship for higher qualifications in coaching so as to fit in any of the club sides in Nigeria,” he noted.
Essiet Umana expressed the club’s readiness to partner with the Lawmaker during his constituency football tournament in ONNA this year.
In his response, the Lawmaker, while thanking the team for the confidence they have in him, promised to support and partner with the club, financially and morally, in order, to take it to greater heights.
He urged them to continue to support the government of Deacon Udom Emmanuel, as the government has good things in stock for them.
