The people of Akwa Ibom State have been assured of an economic breathrough given the degree of investment in the industrialization agenda of the present administration.
The State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel gave the assurance when he addressed the congregation at Reigners Bible Church International, Km 1 Uyo Village Road, Uyo where he attended the church service.
He enjoined the people of the state to cultivate the virtue of positive confession and appreciation of God’s benevolence maintaining that God has shown his grace to the state and by extension the country despite the downturn in the economy.
He explained that God uses times and seasons to draw men to himself and that Nigeria had experienced economic fluctuations without evolving measures to forstall the degeneration and stated that Akwa Ibom, in no distant time, shall become a beacon of light in Nigeria in view of the solid industrialization programmes of his administration.
Governor Emmanuel appealed to the people to exercise patience saying that the investment is at the gestation stage and would soon materialise for all to benefit and thanked the Reigners Bible Church for opening it doors for him to worship.
He cautioned youths not to allow themselves to be used to cause social disorder under the guise of economic hardship stressing that the future belongs to them and called on the church to continually pray for a divine turn around in the economic fortunes, peace and progress of the state and country.
Preaching on the topic “Securing A Breakthrough Where There Is None “, taken from 2nd kings chapter 7, verses 1 to 10, the General Overseer of Reigners Bible Church International, Apostle Akan Weeks, said that from time immemoral man, in times of abundance tend to forget the existence of God and live only to please himself.
Apostle Weeks pointed out that God uses difficult times not only to test man’s faithfulness but draw men to himself and cited the economic recession that afflicted Samaria as recorded in the Bible, saying that the economy had deteriorated to the extent that mothers ate up their children and that the excrutiating poverty persisted until God sent Prophet Elisha to prophesy which the people doubted then God used lepers to bring about it manifestation.
The Cleric therefore listed conditions for attainment of spiritual breakthrough to include faith in God, right attitude towards prophetic proclamations, positive confessions and right actions and said that God has destined Akwa Ibom for greatness by blessing the state with abundant economic resources as well as an investment expert as a Governor to manage the affairs of the state.
