A first class traditional ruler in Akwa Ibom state and paramount ruler of Itu Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, Edidem (Dr.) Edet Akpan Inyang (Amb.P), has, yesterday, September 29, 2016, endorsed Radar Newspapers as one of the best state-based newspapers in Nigeria.

 

The monarch who is also the Secretary-General of Uyio Ikpaisong Ibibio, the Supreme Council of Ibibio Traditional Rulers, made the assertion in Radar’s Corporate Office in Uyo, when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Publisher, Otuekong Franklyn Isong.

 

The Edidem Itu lauded Obong Franklyn Isong who is also the administrative secretary of Uyio Ikpaisong Ibibio, saying that he has remained focused and professional in his journalism career. The traditional ruler poured encomium on the management of Radar Newspapers for maintaining what he called; “high sense of professionalism.”

 

In his words; “Just like the radar satellite, Radar Newspaper captures everything across the country and reports them professionally to her readers across the globe through her paper and her online version. Radar is one of the best Newspapers in the country as at today, not just in Akwa Ibom State but in Nigeria. I wish the paper more successes and pray that Radar Newspapers break new grounds in her reportage.”

 

The monarch who also holds the traditional title of Etitu, ceased the occasion to congratulate the government and people of Akwa Ibom State on the 29th anniversary of the state creation, urging all the ethnic groups in the state to unite for the progress of the state.

 

According to the traditional ruler, the purpose of the creation of the state from Cross River state was to give a sense of belonging and awareness to Ibibio people as the fourth largest ethnic group in the country and to enhance accelerated development.

 

He observed that although the state is yet to arrive at the promised land in areas like education, economic and political development among others, the state is blessed with enough human and natural resources that could enhance rapid development.
