The member representing ONNA state constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Otuekong Nse Essien, has urged the ONNA ward and chapter executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to continue to give the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration the needed support in order for him to succeed as well as actualise his campaign promises.
Hon. Essien, who is also the deputy chief whip of the House made the call yesterday, when the group paid him a solidarity visit in his state House of Assembly office.
The lawmaker commended the governor for being able to see to it that the people start reaping the dividends of democracy at an early stage into his administration, adding that he is proud of him.
He thanked the party chapter and ward executives for the honour done him and assured them of his support in any area.
Hear; “I want to thank God first for the privilege for us to gather here like this and I want to thank you for coming to identify with me. I am lost for words. I also want to thank the party for the magnanimity and the platform given to me to operate. I assure you of my support anytime, any day.”
Earlier in his speech, the chapter chairman of the party, Barr. Ubong Adiakpan, while commending the lawmaker for giving them audience, thanked the governor and the ONNA lawmaker for supporting them during their ward congresses, adding that they are indeed very grateful.
Describing the lawmaker’s achievements on the floor of the house as enormous, Adiakpan expressed satisfaction on his style of presentation of bills and motions.
In his words; “Today, we are here with you as our member in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly with enormous strides in your presentations on the floor of the House. We are also comfortable with the supportive role shown by you to the executive governor in his industrialisation and ultimate transformation of our dear state.”
Highlighting Hon. Essien’s impact since assumption of office, Barr. Adiakpan noted that, the lawmaker is the first ONNA state constituency member of parliament who has brought effective representation to the grassroot, a feat which, according to Adiakpan, is satisfactory.
“Thank you our member with milk of kindness. Permit me to pause here for your works will continuously be chronicled by us,” the Onna PDP boss said.
