The Special Adviser to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Bureau of Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon. Ekong Sampson, has initiated a partnership with leaders of village youth organisations in Akwa Ibom State to ensure a solid grassroots support base for Governor Udom Emmanuel.
This was gathered as the Special Adviser played host to State Exco of the group at his Uyo resident. He thanked the forum for their support for the government so far and encouraged them to remain steadfast.
Sampson assured that the Governor is committed to empowering youths and the generality of Akwa Ibom people.
He urged the youth presidents to take the Udom Emmanuel message home and encourage young people in their respective domains to key into the 5-point agenda of the present administration, giving assurance that the Governor’s industrialisation policy would ensure a prosperous future for the Akwa Ibom youths.
He described village youths as critical power valve for solid grassroots mobilisation and consolidation. He charged them to remain united in their ranks, while also assuring the forum of cooperation and regular interaction with his Bureau.
Earlier, the state president of the Forum of Village Youth Presidents, Bishop Samuel Etuk thanked the Special Adviser for remaining accessible to youths and partnering with the forum.
He promised on behalf of the forum to make the partnership a productive one.
The forum president also promised the commitment of village youth presidents to provide a formidable grassroots support base for the Udom Emmanuel project.
