The newly appointed Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Chukwu Ikechukwu, today, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 played host to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Radar Newspaper, Otuekong Franklyn Isong in his office at the force headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo.
During an interaction, Mr. Ikechukwu restated his readiness to partner with the media in the state to enhance good rapport between the media and force in order to maintain positive image of the Police Force in the state.
The PPRO also sued for cooperation of the media, adding that he was ready to build on the existing cordial relationship between the force and the media in the state.
Ikechukwu also poured encomiums on the editorial crew of Radar for their adherence to a high level of professionalism as reflected on the newspaper’s latest edition that was presented to him, urging the medium to continue in their good work.
In his reaction, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Radar Newspapers, Otuekong Franklyn Isong congratulated the new PPRO on his appointment, stating the readiness of the Newspaper to continuously be a dependable friend of the Police Force and other security agencies in the state, while discharging its constitutional duties as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
He advised the new police spokesman to build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor, Cordilia Nwawe, whom, Chief Isong described as a personal friend, and a friend of the media in the state.
High point of the meeting which was at the instance of the new PPRO was a photograph session and presentation of the latest edition of the Radar newspaper to the PPRO.
