The former chairman of Ibiono Ibom local government council, Hon. Godwin Ekpo, has declared his intention to contest for the 2019 state House of Assembly seat when he gets the green light from God.
Ekpo, a commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State Local Government Service Commission, made the assertion in Uyo while interacting with journalists in Uyo, yesterday. He expressed appreciation to the media for the support given to the government of Mr Udom Emmanuel and sued for more supports.
He noted that the governor is performing, saying that despite the economic recession in the country, Governor Emmanuel has executed numerous life-touching projects in the state within his two years in office.
He listed some of the projects to include roads in Ibiono Ibom and other local governments across the state.
He called on the people of the state to continue to support the government, noting that in 2019, the people of the state should queue behind Deacon Udom Emmanuel, because both Obong Victor Attah of Uyo senatorial district and Senator Godswill Akpabio of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district occupied the office of governor for 8 years.
