The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong Nsima Ekere, has been declared the winner of the Akwa Ibom State Governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held yesterday, Sunday, September 30, 2018, across the 329 electoral ward centres in the state.

The State Working Committee of the APC had adopted the direct primary election to elect the governorship candidate of the party in the state.

The result as announced by the chairman of the electoral panel set up by the National Working Committee of the APC shows that Obong Nsima Ekere pulled 160, 458 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Barr Bassey Dan-Abia Snr who scored 4, 189 votes.

While Senator John James Akpanudoedehe scored 2,015 votes, and Dr Edet Efretuei scored 1,234 votes.
