No fewer than 10, 000 former supporters of Uyo political strongman, Sen. J. J. Akpan-Udoedeghe were handed over to the APC Governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere in a well attended rally in Uyo today(Saturday) organized by the Senator himself.

The ceremony was performed at the Obong Nsima Ekere’s Campaign Grounds in Uyo.

Sen. John James Akpan-Udoedeghe however charged his former supporters to work passionately to installed the APC governorship candidate whom he described as a friend and brother.

He said, he had reconciled with everybody in the party, assuring that, the victory of APC in Akwa Ibom would be landslide across board.

Sen. Udoedeghe, who was former minister of FCT also noted that, he decided to throw his weight behind Ekere because, “I see that God has anointed Obong Nsima Ekere for the job.

According to him, “Nsima is an intelligent administrator and amiable personality and anyone who is closed to him can attest nobody ever regret knowing or working with him, that is the reason I called on my supporters and everyone else to work and deliver him as our next governor of the state come 2019”.

He however warned people using his name as bait to collect monies from Governor Udom Emmanuel to refrain as the forthcoming election would be won strictly on records of performance, not blackmails or abuse of opponent.

Meanwhile, the APC Governorship candidate, Mr Nsima Ekere appreciated Sen. Udoedeghe’s gesture and promised to carry them along in his programmes with immediate effect.

He called on them to work hard to deliver him, President Buhari and all other party candidates during the election next year noting that, after the polls they would stand to reap the dividend of their support.

Among dignitaries who spoke were former Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, former Petroleum minister and State APC Caucus Chairman, Chief Don Etiebet and APC Governorship running mate, Dr Amadu Atai amongst others.

Recalled that, Senator was also contesting for the governorship position in the last party primary but, luck did not shine on him hence, the display of loyalty and sportsmanship for the party to consolidate its wining streak.
