The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Nsima Ekere, has promised to give priority attention to construction of roads in Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area, if elected Governor.
Obong Ekere made the promise during the APC campaign rally in Urue Offong/Oruko after charismatically asking the huge crowd their needs.
“At the end of my tenure as Governor, you will have enough roads in Urue Offong/Oruko including the one that leads to the Paramount Ruler’s Palace,” he said.
To drive away poverty from Akwa Ibom State, Obong Ekere said he came up with Five Pillars of Change in his manifesto, listing them as economic prosperity, infrastructural and rural development, education, health and social protection, security and governance and institutional reforms.
“We are interested in fighting for you and to ensure that we change the fortunes of Akwa Ibom State,” he said.
During a visit to the Paramount Ruler of Urue Offong/Oruko, Offong Effiong Amasi, Obong Ekere gave his word to work for the upgrade of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, to a degree-awarding institution and for the removal of the impediments to the realization of the Ibaka Deep Seaport.
