100 DAYS IN OFFICE: CLO RATES UDOM EMMANUEL HIGH
The chairman of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Akwa Ibom State Branch, Otuekong Franklyn Isong, has rated the performance of Governor Udom Emmanuel high in his first 100 days in office after his re-election.
Isong made the assertion in a press briefing held in his office in Uyo while assessing the governor’s performance on Monday, September 16, 2019, saying that, “while expectations from government are high, the CLO believes that the government has performed well in Aviation development, Health, Security, Welfare of workers, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and road construction.”
The CLO, according to its chairman, “commends Governor Emmanuel for being proactive and responsive to the issues of governance in the state,” urging, “the governor to do more in the areas of job creation, manpower development, rural development, agriculture and Ibom Deepsea Port (IDSP), in order to turn the state into an industrial hub.”
Comrade Franklyn Isong who applauded the just concluded Education Summit organised by the state government, called on the governor to take further bold steps towards addressing the decade of decayed infrastructure in public schools in Akwa Ibom state.
The pro-democracy group, however, congratulated Governor Emmanuel and Akwa Ibom people at home and in Diaspora on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Akwa Ibom state creation, praying for peace, unity and love amongst the people.
