Ibom Golf Club Wins NUGA Tournanment

Ibom Golf and Country Club on Sunday, December 1, 2019, emerged winner of the 2019 Nigeria – United Kingdom Golfing Association (NUGA) tournanment, scoring 9 while the visiting NUGA team scored 3.

The two-day tournament which took place at the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Nwaniba end, Uruan local government area in Akwa Ibom State, had golfers from United kingdom and across Nigeria competing with their host, Ibom golfers.

According to a statement signed by the Captain of Ibom Golf and Country Club, Rt. Hon. Usenobong Akpabio and made available to newsmen in Uyo, the tournanment which started on Saturday, November 30, 2019, ended on Sunday, December 1, 2019, in favour of Ibom Golf and Country Club.

The release stated that the leadership of Ibom Golf and Country Club wishes to appreciate the NUGA team for choosing Akwa Ibom for the 2019 tournament, while praying God to grant members of the team journey mercies back to the United Kingdom as they depart.

The Captain thanked all golfers across Nigeria who participated in the tournament, wishing them safe journey to their respective destinations.

Barr. Akpabio thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the maintenance of Ibom Golf Course, while appreciating members of Ibom Golf and Country Club for their individual supports, contributions and commitment that led to the successes recorded before, during and after the event.

He also congratulated all the golfers who won in the respective categories.
