The former Deputy Speaker, House of Representaives, Rt. Hon. Prince Chibudom.Nwuche, OFR, has described the the of Human Rights activist and Executive Director of the Port Harcourt based Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Anyakwee Nsirimovu, as a sad loss to Rivers, Nigeria and human rights community.
Nsirimovu died some weeks ago in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital after a brief illness.
Hon. Nwuche, in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, McLean Ezebesor, described Anyakwee Nsirimovu, as an illustrious son of the state, a committed and principled rights advocate an a defender of the weak and vulnerable.
Hon. Nwuche commiserated with government and people of Rivers, his family associates and the human rights community for irreparable loss of Mr. Nsirimovu.
The statement read, “Hon. Nwuche condoles with family members, friends and associates of the human rights icon, who made remarkable impact on the country as a committed human and environmental rights activist.
“The Ikwerre nation, his family and the entire human rights and civil society community in mourning the doyen of rights advocacy, affirming that he used his rich experience and knowledge in serving the country and humanity.
“Hon. Nwuchei prays that the almighty God will grant the departed eternal rest, and comfort his family.”
