An Address Presented by the State Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Akwa Ibom Branch, Otuekong Franklyn Isong at the 1st Roundtable organised by the Civil Liberties Organisation in conjunction with other civil society organisations (CSOs), Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other stakeholders to interrogate and appraise the Completion Agenda of the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration at the Mandela Hall, Watbridge Hotel, Babangida Avenue, Uyo, on Thursday, 16th September, 2021.
This Roundtable is convened by the CLO in conjunction with other CSOs and NGOs to interrogate and appraise the Completion Agenda of the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration in Akwa Ibom State.
You will recall that the Completion Agenda has five thematic areas, namely: Wealth Creation; Economic and Political Inclusion; Poverty Alleviation; Infrastructural Consolidation and Expansion, and Job Creation.
It is deliberate that the timing of this Roundtable coincides with the 34th Anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria’s 21st State.
Apart from offering a convivial ambience for a non-partisan assessment of the performance of the current State administration on each of the five thematic areas, the Roundtable will also afford the State Government a golden opportunity to take stock and make amends on the Completion Agenda as the finishing line of 2023 approaches.
As the theme of the Roundtable suggests, discussants shall interrogate and then appraise the Completion Agenda, offering robust suggestions and recommendations.
Once again, welcome.
