A foremost socio-cultural organisation in the State, Oron Union has announced the removal of Sir Edet Amana as Chairman of its Board of Trustees.
According to a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Omen Bassey and exclusively obtained by Radar newspapers, the decision was taken on Saturday by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Union.
The statement noted that the decision was sequel to Edet Amana’s decision to initiate legal action against the union over disagreements arising from the alignment of the proposed Section v of the East-West Road.
It noted that it would amount to an absurdity for the Central Executive Committee to face its BoT Chair in Court, hence the decision to relieve him of the post.
The statement urged Oro people at home and in the Diaspora to remain calm as the Union pursues the interests of the ethnic nationality with renewed vigour and unwavering patriotism warning that no individual can be bigger than a community.
