Commissioner For Works, Akwa Ibom State, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, has reiterated Governor Udom Emmanuel’s commitment towards ensuring the provision of best road network across the 31 Local Government Areas, including minor Streets in Uyo, the state capital.
Akparawa Inyang, who made the remark, Wednesday, on a special interview programme on Atlantic 104.5fm, hinted that the governor’s concern is indeed, the comfort of all Akwa Ibom people irrespective of their tribes, religions and political affiliations.
The commissioner noted that the Udom Emmanuel led administration is embarking on roads projects in phases and will ensure every part of the state is accessible.
On Obotmme -Arochukwu road in Ini Local Government Area, Akparawa Inyang, assured that the hitherto bad road will be constructed soon.
“I have a comprehensive video of the road as we speak. If people now hurriedly go and erect structures there by the roadside, that is at their own risk. Government cannot spend scarce resources making a few people happy while the people suffer”, Inyang noted.
Commissioner Ephraim Inyang who however, regretted that roads in some Local Government Areas in the State are horrifying and terrible, assured Governor Emmanuel’s determination to turn such areas into mega cities.
“There are some Local Government Areas in the State that have no good roads. Places like Oruk Anam, Ukanafun, Obot Akara, Ini, Ikono etc. His Excellency, the governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel is desirous and resolute to give these areas best road network”, he stated.
The Commissioner also explained that the provision of basic infrastructure, human, economic and industrial development, among others remain the cardinal objectives of the Udom Emmanuel led administration, called on all Akwa Ibomites, to rise above petty-mindedness, character assassination and blackmail and support the current administration for the progress and development of the entire state.
