A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom state and Publisher of Newsday Newspaper, Chief Edet Okon Isong, has set up a campaign group to work for the 2019 governorship ambition of the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong Nsima Ekere.

Chief Isong, a former Transition Committee Chairman of Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Council said that the group shall be known as; “Onwi onu Nsima Ekere (Nsima Ekere, Ata onwi enyin)”.

Isong who is confident that Ekere will win the governorship election of Akwa Ibom state in 2019, called on the people of Oro nation to come out en masse to support the aspiration of Ekere in order to move the state forward.

He noted that Nsima Ekere is the only man he trust and would be held responsible if he (Nsima Ekere) fails to deliver after being sworn into office of the governor.

Also speaking, a former chairman of Oron Local Government Council and stalwart of APC, Engr. K. U. Efretuei, stated that; “Oro interest is protected in APC. And so, I charge you all to remain steadfast and be committed to the struggle for Nsima Ekere to become Governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2019. Now that Nsima Ekere is the MD of NDDC, I can assure you that more road construction projects have been awarded in Oro nation. Nsima Ekere is the only man that will give Oro its due.”

APC candidate during the 2015 House of Assembly elections in Okobo State constituency, Ini Essang and former council Secretary, Udung Uko Local Government, Comrade Iniobong Edmund (aka Akan Chemical), who spoke differently at the event, declared their total support for Nsima Ekere governorship which they described as the most wanted for Akwa Ibom top job and promised to work for him in their domains. Other in attendance are Manluck Usuyak, Prince Anwana Ikott, Nkoyo Isong.
