Members of the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Akwa Ibom State Branch have elected a three man executive committee, today, Saturday, February 24, 2018, during election of the body conducted by election committee which was set up by its headquarters last year.

The electoral panel chaired by Barr Dominic Okon conducted the polls and was supervised by the South South zonal chairman of CLO, Comrade Karl Chinedu Uchegbu at the CLO’s Secretariat at Nepa Line, Uyo.

The poll was done after all stakeholders agreed to adopt a consensus arrangement which produced Barr Ibrahim Muhammed as Chairman, Otuekong Franklyn Isong, vice chairman and Barr Ita Duke as Secretary.

The remaining officers will be filled in due course.

Members of CLO who attended the special congress were: the south south zonal chairman, Comrade Karl Chinedu; Akwa Ibom pioneer CLO chairman and Chairman of the Electoral Panel, Barr Dominic Okon; immediate past chairman, Barr Clifford Thomas; Barr Mohammed Tiamiyu; Otuekong Franklyn Isong; Barr Ita Duke; Barr Ekere Ebong; Barr Inibehe Effiong; Barr David Akpakpan; Barr David Augustine; Barr Ekong; Comrade Itoro Obot and Comrade Idorenyin.

I just handed over as Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) in Akwa Ibom State, to a new executive led by my friend, brother and Comrade, Mohammed Ibrahim, Esq. on Saturday, 24th of February, 2018.

May I express appreciation to you for the kind cooperation you showed during the time I served as Chairman, and call you to, please; extend the same measure of cooperation to my successor, and the entire CLO family in Akwa Ibom State.

The CLO in Akwa Ibom State is one large family. I am part of that family, and pledge my willing support and continued cooperation. Human rights promotion, protection and practice constitute our goal, and we shall achieve these, with God on our side.
